Commitment to achieving Net Zero

RecycleIT Now Ltd committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2021

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

During our baseline year 2021, we had an external carbon audit plan created by the local chamber of commerce. This provided a great insight into the details and information we need to capture, to enable us to monitor and measure our emissions. We already had ISO 14001 certification in place.

 Emissions reduction targets

 ·     During 2022 we made further investment into our LED lighting in our facility to improve our annual energy usage.

 ·     We have improved the amount of e-waste that goes to our downstream partners by reusing and refurbishing a higher percentage of end-of-life IT equipment. Please see below current findings for the tonnage of E-Waste collected from clients’ sites, we aim to continue to improve our reuse rate to reduce E-Waste.

2021

The tonnage of e-waste collected from client’s sites 199 Ton (in tonnes or Kilos)

Recycled 13 % – 25.80 tonne

Re-furbished 87% – 172.20 tonne

E-waste reduced from total = 172.20 tonne

2022

The tonnage of e-waste collected from client’s sites 135 Ton (in tonnes or Kilos)

Recycled 10 % – 13.50 tonne

Re-furbished 90 % – 121.50 tonne

E-waste reduced from total = 121.50 tonne

 ·    Our logistics team plan routes to make multiple collections on one trip, in turn this this will reduce the millage on the fleet

and fuel usage.

      ·     We now have a 4-star rating from the Sustainable Development Goals with the aim of tackling poverty, inequality, and climate change by 2030. The scheme was set up to help businesses achieve their goal target, RecycleIT are fully committed to all the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of our Sustainability Project on both a local and National Scale.

Our 4 goals are;

GOAL 8 – Decent work & economic growth.

GOAL 11 – Makes cities human, safe and sustainable.

GOAL 12 – Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

GOAL 15 – Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat
desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

To continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

·        We now have two sustainability pledges in place as a business, the first pledge is to plant one tree for every tonne of E-Waste we collect from our clients. The second pledge is to plant one tree for the sale of every 10 laptops or PC’s we sell in the year. These trees will be planted locally at one of our charities / partners. We anticipate to plant over 2000 trees in 2023, improve local habitat and capture carbon against our current usage.

·       Scope 1 emissions are not currently being measured, however we plan to monitor and measure the CO2e usage of our fleet for customer collections and deliveries, with a view to offsetting this amount by again planting trees in our local community, from January 2024. This is our only relevant scope 1 emission, as we have no other direct emissions from owned and controlled sources.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to .0237tCO2e by 2027. This is a reduction of 50%.

Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2021 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to .0095 tCO2e, a 16%ge reduction against the 2021
baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

·       We have invested in our ISO certification with joining BSI to improve our environmental management procedures. This will help monitor and measure our environmental requires formally.

·       We have joined the local councils chamber of commerce, who provide workshops regarding carbon planning and help educate our staff on energy consumption.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

·       Moving all company cars to electric or hybrid vehicles.

·       Furter investment into our facility such as solar panels, energy efficient heating solution in the warehouse and install of
further charging point for staff electric vehicles.

Customer Feedback

As part of our monitoring and measuring process, we seek feedback and references from our clients & partners to identify the impact that our services have has on their business’s. Not only do our clients directly see the amount E-Waste that has been reused and recycled, but they also see positive environmental impacts such as improved local habitats in the chosen location of our tree planting services.

Below is a reference from our clients & partners regarding the sustainable services we offer.

·       ‘’RecycleIT have become a key partner for the collection of our redundant IT equipment, knowing that our IT equipment is
reused & recycled with a zero-landfill policy, helps with our CSR, and provides great assurance that all our E-Waste is securely disposed of in environmentally friendly way. RecycleIT collected over 10,000KG of E-Waste from our site, with a reuse rate of 90%, reducing 9000KG of our E-Waste. Their sustainability reports greatly assisted with own environmentally planning and we would highly recommend the services they offer ‘’ – MD, local hospitality business.

·       ‘’ We partner with RecycleIT supporting the planting of trees in the local community, the projects, schemes, and
sustainable reporting have greatly improved the exposure & identified the positive impacts circular IT has on the environment. During 2022, RecycleIT contributed towards the planting over 9,000 trees, the benefits of this contribution have improved local habitat by 54,000 6m2 & improved air quality by 36,000gms. We look forward to working with RecycleIT on future projects! ‘’ – CEO, Local Charity.
