RecycleIT is proud to have donated 10 refurbished laptops to the brand-new Vault Youth Zone in Preston, helping to give young people access to the technology they need to learn, develop and prepare for the future.
The donation was made in partnership with the University of Lancashire, whose redundant IT equipment is securely processed and refurbished by RecycleIT. By giving these devices a second life, together we are helping to reduce electronic waste while creating opportunities for young people in our local communities.
The laptops will be used by children and young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, at the new multimillion-pound youth facility on Tithebarn Street. They will support a wide range of activities, including employability training, digital learning and skills development.
Natalie Dugdale from Vault Youth Zone said the laptops will play an important role in strengthening the organisation’s employability programme and helping young people prepare for their futures.
The donation continues RecycleIT’s commitment to supporting local communities through technology. Last year, we also donated 12 refurbished laptops to Preston’s Foxton Centre, helping vulnerable people gain access to essential digital resources.
As specialists in secure IT asset disposal and refurbishment, we believe technology should be reused wherever possible. Every device that can be securely refurbished not only reduces environmental impact but also has the potential to make a real difference in someone’s life.
We’re delighted that these laptops will help young people build confidence with digital skills, access new opportunities and develop the tools they need for the future.
At RecycleIT, we’re passionate about creating a circular economy where technology benefits both people and the planet.
