Recycle IT Donate Laptops to Local Burnley Charities
In November 2021 we launched our very own ‘Tech in the Community’ Project for the locals of Burnley in the lead up to Christmas through our chosen charities.
The projects aim was to appeal to the residents of Burnley to donate unwanted devices at our partner charities that underpin our ever growing Sustainability Project. These devices would then be refurbished by us free of charged and given back out into the winder community just intime to make someone’s Christmas very special with a free laptop and take some of the stresses away from Christmas and help those who needed it most.
The project itself was pushed across all social media platforms from ourselves and our partners. In total we managed to get 50 + units to refurbish. These units included, laptops and tablets.
We would like to say a massive thanks to all our partners in helping bring this fantastic initiative to life. We couldn’t of done it without the help of Healthier Heroes, Burnley FC in the Community, Accrington FC in the Community and Pendleside Hospice.
As a result of all the hard work from our partners we managed to save over 80% of the units going to waste and refurbished them back to life, meaning that not only did we divert the units from landfill and end of life, but we also donated back thousands of pounds worth of equipment back into the community of Burnley and those who needed to access IT the most at Christmas.

We refurbished over 80% of these units and made many people very happy with a free unit. I would encourage any companies to reach out and help any charities they can’.
